Ulundi store robbed at gunpoint.

No shots fired during the robbery

ULUNDI police are investigating a case of business robbery at a furniture store on Sunday morning.

It is alleged two suspects entered the shop, pretending to be customers and stole various cell phones.

The robbery was confirmed by police Captain Nkosie Gwala, who said that one suspect approached the store manager’s desk, ordering him and another employee at gunpoint to go to store manager’s office.

‘The second suspect also produced a gun and ordered all the remaining employees to the same office, where they were locked up, with one suspect demanding safe keys,’ said Gwala, adding that there was a third suspect on standby outside the shop.

‘They opened the safe and took 16 cell phones, airtime vouchers, ten USB flash drives and left,’she said.

Gwala said no shots were fired and employees’ cell phones were not taken away during the robbery.

‘We have opened a case of business robbery and no arrests have yet been made,’she said.
