Revenge murder in KwaMsane
Angry neighbours assaulted a house breaking suspect who later died from his injuries
A VIGILANTE attack in KwaMsane led to the death of a suspected house breaker after he was seen robbing a house and caught in possession of stolen items.
According to police reports, at about 2pm on 12 October, the suspect was seen breaking into a house in the neighbourhood while the owners were not there.
The person who spotted the thief alerted other neighbours to the incident and the suspect was cornered.
The angry residents caught him in possession of a TV and DVD player, and assaulted him.
He sustained numerous serious injuries, including an open wound to the head.
KwaMsane SAPS were called, the stolen goods recovered and the injured suspect taken to KwaMsane Clinic for treatment.
He later died at the clinic while waiting for an ambulance to transfer him to hospital.
KwaMsane SAPS are investigating cases of murder, housebreaking and possession of suspected stolen property.
