No new leads in Calasse murder case

NO new leads have emerged in the murder investigation of Tyrone Calasse, who was shot four times during a heist at a convenience store in Hlabisa,
Calasse died at St Augustine’s Hospital in Durban last Monday.
On 1 July Calasse opened the store in the early hours of the morning when a taxi approached and a number of suspects held him up at gunpoint.
It is believed when Calasse took out his phone to send a message to one of the store managers notifying him of the robbery, he was seen doing so by the suspects who then shot at him.
He was airlifted to St Augustine’s Hospital in Durban.
Surgeons placed him into an induced coma because CT scans revealed he had swelling on the brain which needed draining.
Speaking to the ZO, Calasse’s stepdaughters said he was a strong-willed man.
‘He was driven and determined. Devoted to his family and friends he was always willing to lend a hand and help out where he could.’
The memorial service will be held next Friday, 20 October at 11am at Solid Ground Church on the R102 road towards Felixton.
A wake will follow afterwards at the Empangeni Country Club.
