Three-way count-out at EHS golf day

Empangeni High School 60th anniversary golf day took place at the Empangeni Country Club golf course

TERTIUS Gresse and Lucas Landman best navigated their way around the Empangeni Country Club golf course to claim overall victory in the annual Empangeni High School 60th anniversary golf day.

The duo carded 46 points and won on a count-out with second placed M Oliphant and T Wepener and third placed Soois van Deventer and Allan Farlam.

Twenty two pairs entered the fund-raising event, following a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford format over 18 holes.

Players produced some quality golf, with the last placed pair of Jandri Kraftt and Charl van den Berg carding 36 points, which normally is enough to be in the prizes.

Patrick Lendrum narrowly missed his birdie putt on the 9th

Van Deventer picked up the longest drive award on the 10th, with D Jordaan bagging the nearest to pin award on the 14th.
