Empangeni Darts league heats up

Darts league reaching business end

WITH just two rounds to go before the quarter-finals of the Empangeni Social Darts League, things are heating up with teams producing accurate darts with the hopes of getting an easy draw for the business end of the competition.

This week’s results proved the old adage ‘It’s not over til the fat lady sings’, with two draws in four matches played.

Moth drew 5-all with Aces at the Empangeni Moth Hall, with fourth placed Empangeni Rugby Club drawing 5-5 with third placed Sorted at Mick Kelly Park.

Second placed UDT got the job done, beating Umoya 8-2 at the Empangeni Moth Hall.

Defending champions and current log leaders, Hullets, demolished Rhinos 9-1 at Mick Kelly Park to extend their lead at the top of the log.

The quarter-finals are scheduled for Wednesday, 6 September, followed by the semi-finals on 13 September and the finals on 20 September.

As things currently stand, Hullets will take on Moth, UDT will play Aces, Sorted will entertain Umoya and Empangeni Rugby Club will challenge Rhinos in the quarter-final round.

But with teams stepping up to the line and delivering every week, things could change in the last two rounds.
