Getting the hang of Mandela Day

‘Hang out with Madiba’ spreads its footprint

THE Zululand Observer’s 5th annual ‘Hang out with Madiba’ day saw no fewer than six washing lines erected to receive donations of clothing from the caring public.

Households, businesses and government entities brought along warm winter garments for distribution to the needy via the City of uMhlathuze’s disaster management component and the ZO’s DICE (Do I Care Enough?) charity.

Lines were set up at the ZO’s Empangeni offices, the Richards Bay Civic Centre, Zikhulisi, Foskor and Mtunzini Primary.

The Rotary clubs of Richards Bay, Empangeni and Mtunzini lent extensive support to the initiative, which saw significant loads of bags of clothing, soft toys, blankets and shoes collected.
