Rhino conservation cyclist reaches Zululand

#OLLI Frontier Rider Wayne Bolton is expected to enter Zululand early tomorrow morning

If you see a guy on a bicycle pulling a life-sized replica of a rhino, it’s Wayne Bolton busy cycling 2000km to spread the message of conservation.

Wayne has already paddled 1209km in the One Land Love It #OLLI Frontier Ride and is expected to enter Zululand early tomorrow morning.

Our reporter Larry Bentley will meet Wayne as he crosses the Tugela River into the traditional Zululand region.

From there, Wayne will stay over in Mtunzini and visit Felixton College.

Education is an important aspect of his campaign. His mission is to educate people about their responsibility and the role they can play in loving our land.

‘Educating the youth about small things like picking up litter can make a big differance,’ Wayne says.

On Thursday morning, 20 July 2017, Wayne will visit Thula Thula Game Lodge near Empangeni, leaving for St Lucia on Friday, 21 July 2017, where Larry will once again catch up with him.

‘Without a vehicle to support Wayne, there would be no expedition – that is one of our pillars of success,’ says Waynes wife and #OLLI spokesperson Nikki.

‘But Avis Van Rentals are far more than that… they have become partners in our expedition cause.  A corporate with a heart who have enabled our family to do what we can to make a difference.’

So Zululanders, be sure to be on the look out to see if you spot the life sized fiberglass Rhino fondly now known as #OLLI.
