EMPANGENI police arrested four suspected copper cable thieves in the early hours of Monday morning at Etsheni Reserve in Nseleni.
Officers were patrolling the area in search of wanted suspects when they spotted a group of men who, according to Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, were ‘suspicious looking and cutting something’.
The officers approached the men, who ran away when they noticed the police presence.
However the police managed to arrest four men between the ages of 16 and 29.
They were charged with being in possession of property suspected to be stolen and appeared at the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
