RAPE accused Ayanda Sibusiso Sibiya has received a life sentence in the Pongola Regional Court last week after being found guilty of a rape he committed in August, 2014 in the Ncontshane area near Pongola.
It was heard that Sibiya accosted a then 21-year-old victim while she was on her way home. He forced her into the premises of a local school and repeatedly raped her at knifepoint, only releasing her the next morning.
Months later he was arrested on another rape charge, after which he was linked to the August case.He was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment, over and above the life sentence for the May incident.
