CLAIMS of a teacher having sent texts of a sexual nature and nude pictures of himself to learners were substantiated on Wednesday when one victim’s family opened a criminal case.
Richards Bay SAPS confirmed that a charge of indecent exposure has been opened against a former Richards Bay Secondary School teacher who was accused of having shared self-made pornographic material with learners.
The claims were made during a protest demonstration by a ‘Parent Community Group’ outside the school on Monday morning.
The teacher resigned with immediate effect on the same day.
Meanwhile, the parent group indicated that since Monday, reports have surfaced of more learners having been targeted but these could not be confirmed as no further charges have yet been opened at the Richards Bay Police Station.
