Hoërskool Richardsbaai learners raise money for children with cancer

The school came through by going blue

A GROUP of compassionate teens recently hosted a successful fund-raising event in support of the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation.

The Hoërskool Richardsbaai outreach team requested that all learners attend school wearing blue and make a donation to the organisation, which provides practical assistance to little ones battling with the disease, and their families.

Cupcakes, doughnuts and sweets were also sold to raise funds.

At the end of the day, a total amount of R5351.50 was collected.

The team said in a statement they are pleased to have been able to help ‘keep more than hope alive’ – the motto by which CHOC is driven.

‘We stand firmly behind their efforts and we intend to continue engaging in the business of saving lives in the future.’
