Health campaign moves forward

A monthly opportunity for medical screening and learning opportunity for locals

EMPANGENI residents gained valuable information on various health issues during a health and wellness awareness campaign held at the Empangeni Council Chambers last week.

Spearheaded by community coordinator Martha Mishra under the slogan ‘Each one Reach one’, the campaign aimed to equip people with a better understanding of HIV/Aids, diabetics, epilepsy and other health conditions.

‘Our health and wellness are vitally important, and with this campaign we encourage people to acquire information and then educate others. Working together we can promote healthier lifestyles,’ said Mishra.

This monthly programme also includes health professionals from Empangeni Clinic, who conduct free medical testing for pregnancy, HIV, diabetes and other blood tests.

The next programme will be held on Thursday, 23 March and will include prizes and learning courses.

For more information on the programme, contact Mishra on 082 689989.
