Richards Bay leads with rain figures

RICHARDS Bay is leading the pack in terms of rainfall figures for the week thus far.

Forecaster at the South African Weather Services, KZN branch, Aslam Sardiwalla, noted that only figures for Monday and Tuesday were available while today’s figures will be available tomorrow morning.

Richards Bay: Monday (6mm); Tuesday (112mm)

University of Zululand: Monday (15mm); Tuesday (100mm)

Mandini: Monday (19mm); Tuesday (56mm)

St Lucia (Charters Creek): Monday (6mm); Tuesday (46mm)

Pongola: Monday (5mm); Tuesday (17.2mm)

Mbazwana: Monday (4mm); Tuesday (6mm)

While no serious incidents of flooding have been reported in the Zululand region, besides some flooding in eSikhaleni, heavy flooding and damage have been reported in areas such as Newcastle and Shaka’s Rock.
