THE suspect charged with culpable homicide after a Richards Bay resident, Rajesh Chinsamy(43), died after being knocked over by a car on Sunday morning, is also facing a drunk driving charge.
The accused appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court this week and was released on bail.
He will be back in court on 29 March.
According to police, Chinsamy was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by police in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Brackenham robots.
He left the vehicle and was standing at the roadside when he was hit by the car.
He was declared dead at the scene.
