Mtubatuba Mayor Qhina Mkhwanazi and his deputy, Cllr MS Gumede, embarked on a clean-up campaign last week

MTUBATUBA Mayor Qhina Mkhwanazi and his deputy, Cllr MS Gumede, embarked on a clean-up campaign last week in a bid to put the wheels in motion to keep the town clean.

One of the eyesores in town has been an old woman who has made a home for herself in front of shops and a garage.

According to the mayor, ‘MaZulu’, as she is fondly known, has caused disruption and created an eyesore with her makeshift dwelling and it was decided to move her back to her own home.

‘It took two trucks, a bakkie and 15 municipality employees to tidy up the area.

MaZulu was escorted back home, and she was happy about the support she received from the municipality.
