AS residents, we are fed up with people sitting in the park next to the pre-school on Via Cassiandra in the Richards Bay CBD.
This area was supposed to be a playground for children but it has turned into a cesspool of drugs, alcohol and crime.
We had a break in on Friday and will put it squarely on this park where criminals can sit and watch our activities and see when we leave our home.
The park is not safe for any young kid to play in as it is riddled with broken glass, used condoms and litter owing to older kids and students.
They drink here at night and even during school time. I often see under-aged youngsters sitting and drinking in the park.
The City of uMhlathuze should definitely intervene to make our recreational parks safe again.
