KHULEKANI Mafuleka, a Mtubatuba taxi driver was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment on Friday for stabbing to death Siphamandla Mhlanga (17), a Nkosana High School boy.

It is reported the school children were dancing in front of Mtubatuba KFC, when a taxi pulled up and parked next to them.

Apparently without any provocation, the driver stabbed Mhlanga, who was then rushed to the Kwa-Msane Clinic for medical help.

In another case, Jabulani ‘Mpongo’ Lukhozi (30) was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for the murder of Patrick Sandile Msweli (Mgwazi) in May 2015.

The incident took place in the Vezobala Reserve, Dukuduku outside Mtubatuba.

Apparently Msweli, out on bail for stabbing Lukhozi in a previous incident, was found dead in a gumtree plantation on the morning of 1 May 2015.

Police investigation led to a search of Lukhozi’s house where blood-stained clothing was discovered, linking him to the murder and his subsequent arrest .
