Light up your lives this Christmas time

'By lighting these bulbs, we remember our loved ones who continue to burn brightly in our hearts and memories forever' - Regina Anthony, patron of the Tree Of Light initiative

THE Zululand Hospice Association‘s annual Tree Of Light ceremony continues to be a celebration of love, strength, gratitude and remembrance for an entire community that gathers at the start of each festive season to remember those who cannot be with them.

‘The tree-lighting ceremony continues to be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic under our starry skies with family and loved ones as we count down to turning on the lights of remembrance,’ says Tatum Bristow, Zululand Hospice spokesperson.

The event takes place on Tuesday, 22 November at 6pm in the gardens of the Zululand Observer Empangeni offices in Baines Street.

Entry is free and bulbs of remembrance will be sold at R50 each.

The donation forms for the bulbs of remembrance are available at both the Zululand Hospice and Zululand Observer Empangeni offices, or by emailing fundraiser@zululandhospice.org.za

Forms will be available on the evening for completion.

All funds raised on the evening will be put towards providing dignified and professional palliative care to Zululand Hospice patients.

A small tea garden will be open on the evening, but visitors are welcome to provide their own snacks and bring along their own picnic baskets.
