The intimacy of gospel music was once again on display at the Thanksgiving Concert at the Umfolozi Casino Resort in Empangeni on Friday night.

Local artists who are now internationally known stars expressed their gratitude through music -giving thanks to have made it this far in the music industry.

The show kicked off with the uplifting sounds of Isethembiso Gospel.

The award-winning group serenaded ‘Uthando Lwakho’ to the crowd, giving a testimony about God’s love through music.

Much loved guitarist Bheka Mthethwa, Xoli Mncwango and Nozipho Phiri also spread the gospel with their vibrant angelic voices.

‘We are thankful to have made this far and appreciate the support we have received over the years. The support from the King Cetshwayo District Municipality, uMfolozi Munipality and the Zululand Observer has been overwhelming,’ said Isethembiso founder Thembinkosi Mthembu.
