Join coastal clean-up campaign

SCHOOLS, businesses, corporates, community organisations, sport and social clubs are urged to register for this year’s Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife‘s annual coastal cleanup project on Saturday.

This is the 20th anniversary of the coastal cleanup campaign and the programme has grown dramatically over the years, having started off with 455 volunteers in 1996, but now involves 10 000 volunteers.

The cleanup has become one of the largest volunteer efforts on behalf of the marine environment in which thousands of kilograms of litter is removed from beaches, reefs, estuaries, streams, rivers and catchments.
