Comrades entries flooding in

Entry is free to all runners who have completed more than 25 Comrades Marathons

WELL over 4 000 runners have already taken advantage of the early bird registration for the 2017 Comrades Marathon.

By Monday the entries stood at 4 300 since registration opened on 1 September.

The figure includes more than 280 international entrants from 30 countries.

The 92nd edition of the world renowened Comrades race will be run on Sunday, 4 June next year and will be the 47th ‘up run’.

The three-month long entry process closes on 30 November, or as soon as the entry cap of 20 000 has been reached.

Athletes are encouraged to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment.

Entry fees are R420 (early bird, September only for SA athletes), R460 (local), R770 (rest of Africa) and R2 650 (international).

Entry is free to all runners who have completed more than 25 Comrades Marathons.

By post (with proof of payment) to the CMA Office, PO Box 100621, Scottsville, 3209

By hand (with the original bank deposit slip) at Comrades House, 18 Connaught Road, Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg.

Qualifying
Qualifying for the 2017 Comrades Marathon will be applicable from 27 August till 2 May.

Runners are advised that the 2016 Comrades Marathon will not be an automatic qualifier for next year’s race.
