THE Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs has partnered with the National Cleaner Production Centre to present the KZN Industrial Symbiosis Programme Workshop in Richards Bay next month.
Taking place on 28 September at Pelican Hall at the ZCBF Community Park, the workshop aims to build business networks by identifying synergies where unused or residual resources of one company could be used by another.
The workshop offers companies with under-utilised resources a platform to exchange resources with other companies, industries, research and development agencies as well as local universities.
The resources may include energy, waste, water, logistics and expertise.
This results in mutual economic, social and environmental benefits.
his is a free facilitation service, using an industrial symbiosis approach to enhance business profitability and sustainability.
