Big success for bikers’ ‘blikkies’ run

Bikers celebrate successful Naval Island tin food collection

IT looked like a turf war between the Wild Hogs and the Del Feugos at the Madrid Chilli Festival on Saturday when the mean machine bikers thundered down to Naval Island full throttle, armed with an arsenal of deadly projectiles.
But luckily, this is Richards Bay.

The chillies may be hotter and more lethal than in Madrid, but the bikers are much milder.

In fact, the majority of clubs are churches and charities on wheels, while the rest are undercover agents for same, only because they cherish their wild pack appeal.

Hence, the projectiles were not the latest homemade weapons, but a tin food collection for the underprivileged communities of the Bay.

And, with typical biker fraternal loyalty, the brotherhood amassed a mountain of non-perishable food items in support of the project launched by Jaco and Belinda Viviers of Suzuki Richards Bay.

Motla Consulting Engineers transported the food and set up the collection point and the bumper stash was handed over to Solidarity Helping Hand Richards Bay for distribution to needy households.
