Three killed on black Friday

The first killing was reported at around 9.45pm when a 25-year-old man was beaten to death at the Riverview Cottages in KwaDlangezwa.

THREE men were brutally attacked and killed on Friday, with two cases believed to be acts of street justice.

The first killing was reported at around 9.45pm when a 25-year-old man was beaten to death at the Riverview Cottages in KwaDlangezwa.

It was alleged the young man robbed a community member.

According to Mtunzini police residents, who said they were fed up with crime in the area, used various objects to beat and kill the suspect.

Soon after his incident police were called to another scene where a 30-year-old man had also been killed at Mthiyane Cottages.

According to the police statement, the man was murdered by community members after he apparently robbed students of their belongings.

Mtunzini SAPS requested anyone who might have information about the cases, to contact the police station.

Shortly after the second incident, another man was shot and killed in his home in Mtunzini.

Thembinkosi Gumede was shot several times and died at his house. The motive for the killing is unknown.

Police pleaded with residents to report crime to the police and not take the law into their own hands.
