‘My child ran out the water crying and we had to treat burn-like painful areas,’ said one mother who often frequents the Bay’s unspoiled recreational beach.

‘Chatting with other parents and people who also paddle ski or surf, this has been a common complaint for some time.

‘The problem occurs around the Yacht Club, Bay Hall, Pelican Island and the Richards Bay Skiboat Club.’

City Director: Parks, Sport and Recreation, Erns van Biljon, has issued instruction for water sampling to be conducted in these areas.
