UPDATE: City does water about-turn

JUST hours after announcing drastic water restrictions – including cutting off water supplies at night to households – the City of uMhlathuze has ‘put the announcement on ice’.

The reason given by City Communication Manager, Mdu Ncalane was ‘to give residents more time to get sensitised to the idea’.

However, he stressed that water should be conserved in all possible ways and said the announced water pressure restrictions were still being implemented.
