Badminton starts up again in Richards Bay

UMHLATHUZE Badminton Club members play every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Veldenvlei Community Centre from 7pm to 11pm.

All ages are welcome to join and play socially at a cost of R5 per person per night.

There are currently 35 people signed up thus far.

‘We are glad that we are able to play badminton again after two years following the unavailability of the facility, and encourage anyone to come and play,’ said coordinator Marina Erasmus.

‘We would like to teach the game to youngsters so that the sport will not die out in our area. We are playing socially at the moment, but are looking to expand the club and eventually start a league.’
