UPDATE: Policemen shot in Nyoni escape die
Two policemen wounded during a shootout with an escaping prisoner in Nyoni, have died
BOTH policemen who were wounded during a botched escape from the holding cells of the Nyoni SAPS station, have died.
According to sources close to the investigation, both Warrant Officers passed away in hospital during the course of the night due to the extent of their injuries.
One of the men sustained gunshot wounds to the face and head while the other was shot in the abdomen and chest.
Their identities are known to the Zululand Observer, but are being withheld until their next of kin is properly notified.
