BREAKING NEWS: Double murder in sleepy KwaMbonambi
A suspect arrested on an unrelated charge confessed and led police to the murder scene
POLICE have confirmed that an elderly couple were murdered in their home in KwaMbonambi near Empangeni in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
Police said they arrested a house breaking suspect who was wanted on an unrelated charge at around 9am. He then made a shocking confession to the double murder before leading police to the scene in Glendower Street where they found the bodies of a couple in their 60’s.
Both husband and wife sustained multiple stab wounds.
It is believed the suspect and two other men broke into the home at around 2am, making off with a number of items, most of which has been recovered by police.
The Zululand Observer is withholding their names until the victim’s next of kin can be notified.
