Skull found in shallow grave near Mtuba

The head of a woman who went missing two years ago was found in Mfekayi Reserve,

THE skull of a woman, who disappeared in 2013 was on Monday night found in a shallow grave in Mfekayi Reserve, Mtubatuba.

Police suspect it was a muthi murder.

According to Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, KwaMsane SAPS Spokesperson, Venqe Tholakele Nsibande (24) went missing in May 2013 after leaving her place of employment in Mfekayi.

A missing persons docket was opened, but Nsibande was never found.

Prior to the recovery of the skull on Monday, an employee of the inyanga (witchdoctor) in Mfekayi said he overheard the inyanga and his wife arguing, his wife allegedly threatening to report that he had killed a girl.

The employee took it upon himself to investigate further and reported his findings to the police.

His secret investigations revealed Nsibande had been taken to a plantation in Hluhluwe where she was killed and beheaded.

Her body was allegedly left in the plantation and her head taken to the inyanga.

After reporting the matter to the police, the informant showed officers the shallow grave where Nsibande’s head was buried.

Police officers then dug up the skull and detained one suspect in connection with the killing.

The inyanga, however, remains at large.
