Vice-principal gunned down outside school

He was dragged out of his car and shot, the suspects fleeing the scene

A VICE-PRINCIPAL was critically wounded by two gunmen yesterday afternoon.

Thokazi Duduza Mkhwanazi (40) of the Nomyaca High School, outside eShowe, was sitting in his vehicle at the school.

He was approached by two unknown suspects who fired two shots, pulled him out of the car and fired another two shots before running away.

He survived the attack and was taken to Dlangubo Clinic for treatment, where he passed away.

It is not yet clear if Mkhwanazi was still going to, or if he had attended, a School Governing Body meeting at the school when the incident took place.

The motive, at this stage, is believed to be jealousy as Mkhwanazi had attended an interview for a school principal’s post at the Enqobeni Primary School last week.

Anyone who can assist the police in their investigation is asked to call 10111 or Crime Stop 08600 1011 or the eShowe SAPS on 035 4734215.
