New fire trucks to benefit community

Two shiny new emergency trucks are parked in the uMhlathuze Fire Department fire house.

UMFOLOZI Municipality has received two new emergency fire trucks thanks to the generosity of Ritchie Auto.

Valued at R1.2-million, the addition of these trucks will assist the local fire department to effectively fight fires or deal with any other emergency situations.

Ritchie Auto Empangeni New Vehicles Sales Manager Paul Mannix handed over the vehicles to uMfolozi Mayor, Cllr Smangaliso Mgenge.

uMfolozi Municipal Manager Khulumowakhe Gamede said the municipality has an obligation to respond to the needs of the community and assist in saving lives and belongings during fires.
