Young international soccer stars expected in Durban this month

THERE is less than a month remaining before the 2015 Durban U19 International Football Tournament kicks off in Durban.

In its second year, the tournament runs from 29 July until 8 August at four venues around Durban.

Action will take place at the Princess Magogo Stadium (KwaMashu), Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium (Claremont) and King Zwelithini Stadium (Umlazi).

The final will take place in the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Top talent will be on show including English Premier League giants Arsenal, for the first time in South Africa.

The Italian Series A side, AC Milan will bring their young stars and is among the favourites to take the title.

Carrying the Dutch flag will be the current Dutch Eredivisie champions, PSV Eindhoven.

Current Scottish league title holders, Glasgow Celtic will also be in Durban.

The Turkish side, Galatasaray and the German Bundesliga’s Stuttgart complete the international line-up.

The U19 national team and a KZN Academy XI will showcase some of the best up-and-coming South African talent.

The eight sides will participate in two groups of four teams each with the top two sides in each pool advancing to the semi-finals.

The current champions are Santos from Brazil who beat Benfica from Portugal 2-0 last year.
