Mountain bikers gear up

Fun at the Spares Shop mountain bike festival.

CYCLISTS from all over Zululand entered the The Spares Shop mountain bike festival.

Zululand Cycling Club, together with sponsor, The Spares Shop, teamed up with Richards Bay Christian School combining both the mountain bike challenge and the school’s popular food fair into a fun day for the whole family.

With tempting food stalls selling delicious food and drink, a tea garden as well as jumping castle, face painting for the children and free ice lollies for kids the day was deemed a great success by all who attended.

There were three distances which cyclist could compete in a 10km, 25km and a 50km and according to the cyclists it was a fast flat race with average speeds of between 28km and 30 km an hour.
