Protesting students shut down campus operations on Tuesday

Students at the uMfolozi TVET College shut down campus operations in protest of a lack of water at the residences this (Tuesady) morning.

Speaking to a ZO journalist, uMfolozi TVET College marketing manager Bhekani Ndlovu confirmed the closure of campus.

He explained that the water issue is not exclusive to the college facilities, but affecting the entire eSikhaleni area.

“We are in constant communication with the municipality to beef up the supply of water through water trucks as an alternative measure in this matter,” said Ndlovu.

“I can confirm that learning and teaching and other operations within the eSikaleni college campus has been halted. I am currently on my way to the meeting with the college principal to determine the way forward.”
