MTUBATUBA Municipality has announced that car owners will soon be able to apply for or renew their motor vehicle licenses at its Driving License Testing Centre (DLTC).
The municipality said it recently met with the Department of Transport (DOT) which paved the way for this to happen.

“After council made the decision that the licensing of motor vehicles should be done at the municipality, it was noted that the post office had increased numbers of people making use of it.
“The council then delegated the municipal manager to engage with the DOT and indeed they have granted us permission.”
The municipality said a memorandum of agreement was signed with the DOT and added that further details on when this will get under way will soon be announced.
DOT spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane said this was happening across the province where municipalities are being given the power to renew motor vehicle licenses to make it easier on car owners.
