WATCH: Road repairs set to begin on pothole-riddled Richards Bay road
Continual groundwater seepage over at least three years has rendered this road virtually impassable
Arboretum residents can look forward to road repairs to Rooibosrand getting under way this week.
Work on the pothole-riddled section of road was originally scheduled for May, but was delayed for one month after the jetting machine broke.

Residents’ hopes were raised in June when work appeared to begin, but this ceased when the jetting machine nozzle broke once again.
This led to the team excavating to remove the damaged subsoil drainage pipes rather than unblocking them.
For at least three years, this section of Rooibosrand has been subjected to continual groundwater seepage which has resulted in the road now being virtually impassable.
Councillor Henning de Wet on Friday said, aside from the jetting machine breakage, the City of uMhlathuze was unable to procure materials.
These have now been ordered and work is set to begin this week.
