Strong winds as forecast by the SA Weather Service from Sunday midnight to midday today (Monday) did not disappoint, as even at low tide, waves came crashing over the dolphin viewing platform at Alkantstrand.
Zululand’s coastal areas experienced pumping winds as the result of a fast-moving cold front that made landfall in the southern Cape on Sunday morning and travelled north.
Apart from the fierce winds, late on Sunday night Meerensee experienced a torrential downpour lasting about 10 minutes.
