eSikhaleni community NPO heads beach clean-up operation

A group of young people strives to be the change they want to see in the world.

On Saturday, the Umpheme Community Development Foundation headed up a clean-up campaign at King Cetshwayo Beach in eSikhaleni.

They cleaned up the area to ensure it is safer and cleaner for everyone to enjoy.

The clean-up was under the #SaveOurLand initiative – a programme by Masisi Chirwa of Re-living COP17.

The clean-up campaign focused at the King Cetshwayo Beach in eSikhaleni

‘We teamed up with the Re-living COP17 group because they have shown us the importance of recycling and that not all trash is ‘trash’.

‘Helping people and the environment is the fundamental purpose of our organisation, and the aim of the clean-up was to make sure trash ends up in a bin and not in our ocean,’ said foundation chairperson Ntando Mabaso.
