‘I know the experience of not having sanitary pads, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Heading the drive is Andile Mbokazi of Owesifazane Ohlakaniphile Foundation

‘I wanted to make sure our young sisters don’t have that experience, but can rather focus on their school work,’ said Mbokazi.

The community-based foundation aims to uplift the standard of living of local residents.

Since its establishment, the team has raised awareness about sexual and gender-based violence while providing support to orphanages and old-age homes.

It also heads various food parcel drives and feeding scheme programmes.
