Motorists can expect periodic road closures amid ongoing N2 upgrades

Roadworks will now affect the portion of the N2 between the R102/N2 interchange at Canefields and the N2/R619 (eNseleni/Richards Bay) interchange

THE N2 between Canefields (R102/N2 interchange north of Empangeni) and the Richards Bay/eNseleni R619 off-ramp will be undergoing roadworks from today (Thursday) until 14 April.

Sanral (SA National Roads Agency (SOC) Ltd) said last night that the road will be open to motorists, but delays are to be expected as traffic accommodation closures will be erected.

These roadworks form part of ongoing N2 upgrades, which have seen the national route north of Richards Bay receive attention.

‘We appeal to road users to note and comply with the advance warning signs and speed restrictions when travelling past the construction work zones,’ said Sanral Eastern Region project manager Serisha Sukraj.
