Following the extension of the R350 grant, recipients can now cash-in in store

Unemployment grant beneficiaries can now collect their R350 Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant from more than 1 000 Shoprite group stores nationwide.

Over 10 million SRD grant recipients across the country can claim their R350 from selected Shoprite, Checkers, OK Foods and U-Save stores nationwide.

This allows the beneficiaries to collect their grant, buy essentials, and pay bills in one go.

Recipients are expected to produce their ID and cellphone number that they used to register on the Sassa database.

An OTP will be sent to the customer as confirmation.

Collection of grants from one of the 1 286 participating stores will be available from this month for beneficiaries who are already registered.

Customers may register at Sassa offices or the Post Office as in-store registration is not available.
