SPAR partners with philanthropist to donate shoes and sanitary pads to schools

Lack of sanitary pads is a sad reality for many girls in schools. What’s being done about it?

Countless scholars are deprived of an education because they do not have access to shoes and sanitary pads.

In light of this dark reality, SPAR partnered with a local philanthropist, Lennox Mathebula, to donate Petals sanitary pads and Bata school shoes. Lennox says, “I’m saddened to witness many children skipping school because of the struggle and discomfort of attending without sanitary pads or shoes.”

SPAR was inspired by his vision and eagerness to serve impoverished communities. We made sure to support his mission and provide three schools (Makhasa High School, Nontshwiliza Primary School and Mdudla Primary School) with these essentials.

SPAR sponsored the sanitary pads and Lennox independently raised funds to donate the school shoes which he purchased from SUPERSPAR Hluhluwe. Together, as a team, they buckled down and gave it their all, so that the children can give their best.

The partnership between SPAR and Lennox highlights the importance of partnerships in uplifting communities and the underprivileged.
