‘We have seen President Ramaphosa and Premier Sihle Zikalala get their vaccinations, and they are still alive.’

Mhlongo said the committee is working with various stakeholders to tackle these socio-economic challenges.

‘We have noted with concern the increase of substance abuse in our community,’ he said.

‘Cases of physical abuse and arrests related to substance abuse have increased in our community.

The issue of teenage pregnancy is also a cause for concern. We have noted a high rise in teenage pregnancies.’
