Dagga and illicit goods worth R500 000 seized in eManguzi
Stop and search conducted by police ends with arrest
A 24-YEAR-OLD suspect was placed under arrest for dealing in dagga and for possession of counterfeit goods on Thursday afternoon, following a stop-and-search operation by police at the Scabazini area.
Officers who were deployed in eManguzi spotted a courier vehicle driving recklessly, and decided to pull it over to conduct a search.

During the search, the police found several bags of dagga and illicit goods including takkies, clothes and other items.
The seized dagga weighed in at 18.7kg and, combined with the recovered goods, carries an estimated value of R500 000.
Following further investigation, police revealed that the goods were being transported to Durban.
The suspect is expected to appear before the eManguzi Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
