In the soapie, Mthandeni plays the role of a police officer, Thulani Sibiya.

‘I’m very excited to be part of this series. I’ve have been on TV many times, but this is the strongest character I’ve portrayed.

‘I now work opposite some of the big names who inspired me to be an actor, such as Meshack Mavuso, who we grew up watching on Yizo Yizo.

This is truly a humbling experience,’ said Mthandeni.

He has been part of the entertainment industry for quite some time and has made appearances on the Mzansi Magic telenovelas Rockville and Isibaya, as well as portrayed a major supporting role in the major South African movie, Skororkoro.

He has also worked on many theatre productions such as the musical, Afrika My Home, in which he played alongside Mondli Makhoba of Uzalo and Abdul Khoza of the Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Road.

He also portrayed a supporting role as Shwiliza in eHostela, Jackson in Uzalo on SABC 1 and Chef Valentine in Isibaya.

Last year he took on the role of a clan elder in a 13-part drama series, Ifalakhe.
