Market Meander hits the mark

Richards Bay's inaugural Market Meander on Saturday was a huge success

RICHARDS Bay’s inaugural Market Meander on Saturday was a huge success, as residents from all over flocked to enjoy their ‘market fix’ after months of no access to such events.

Unlike usual markets, the meander included 16 market stalls at different locations throughout town, from Meerensee to Veldenvlei, Birdswood and Arboretum.

Market-goers enjoyed numerous items on offer, including jewellery, clothing, pottery, wooden furniture, venison and other meats, and much scrumptious food, from coffee and cake to pancakes and wors rolls.

Trelique Models Zime Mthembu and Simone Pienaar acted as live mannequins for the day, modelling clothing that was on sale in Meerensee

‘We are thrilled that the day turned out the way it did, with many compliments received and people asking us if this will become a regular market,’ said organiser, Wendy van Loggerenberg.

‘The plan is to run the Market Meander every two months, possibly with a different theme each time.’
