One dead in Empangeni crash
The truck that was involved in the accident overturned and blocked the road
THE driver of a light motor vehicle was declared dead this afternoon (Tuesday) after a head-on collision with a truck.
The accident occurred just before 3pm on the main bypass road to Ngwelezana township from Empangeni.

Reports from the scene indicate that the car was travelling towards Empangeni when the driver lost control and collided head-on with the oncoming truck.
The truck driver suffered a broken arm and bruises, and was taken to hospital for medical attention.
The truck overturned and blocked both lanes of the road, leaving its load of sugarcane scattered all over the road.
