Suspected hijacker murdered in drive-by shooting
The shooting occurred while the man was travelling in the passenger seat of his friend's car on the R34
A SUSPECTED criminal was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Empangeni last night (Monday).
The man whose identity is known to the ZO was attacked while travelling in the passenger seat of his friend’s car on the R34.

Witnesses told police that occupants in a Toyota Corolla fired about 10 shots at the car in which the man was travelling.
The driver of the vehicle then lost control and crashed into a bush.
The victim, who was in his early forties, had already been wounded and attempted to flee by running.
After about 400m he collapsed and died.
He was known to be affiliated with several hijacking cases and had previous criminal convictions.
