Support #HandforKZN and donate towards a meal for the hungry

AN offshoot of the #ShutSADown relief fund, #HandforKZN was set up for those in need in KZN during these particularly trying times.

Jennifer van Straaten is raising funds for retirement homes, soup kitchens and children’s homes that have not received government assistance during lockdown.

She has joined forces with local churches and caregivers to help feed the hungry.

Involved in setting up the nationwide #ShutSADown relief fund, Jennifer a Pongola resident, chose to focus on her home province.

Residents of Pongola, among others, have benefited from this initiative.

To identify the most needy families in the province, and in the northern KZN region, Jennifer has teamed up with Helping Hands and local churches.

‘I want to expand my hand with the aspiration of supporting KZN volunteers, soup kitchens or food banks that are run privately,’ said Jennifer.

‘My aim is to assemble the food parcels and distribute them directly to those who need them.

‘Food vouchers will also be distributed via SMS or WhatsApp.’
